call for participationCall for Participation - 2003 GCC SummitMay 25-27, 2003Ottawa, Ontario, CANADAGeneral InformationWe are pleased to invite you to participate in the GCC Developer's Summit. At this time we are soliciting proposals for technical papers, tutorials, and working group meetings. The GCC Developers Summit is a developers conference focusing on the technologies in the GNU Compiler Collection, and associated tools and technology. We are looking for representation from all major areas of the collection. The goal is to have two major tracks. One track for developers and those interested in the internals of the GCC Compilers and another for developers who use GCC on a daily basis including those porting, maintaining, and shipping GCC. All submissions must have a very strong technical bias. Submissions of a marketing or sales nature are not appropriate for this venue.
PresentationsThere are several formats of presentation time slot available. There will be 4 rooms available on the 25th for smaller tutorials and working groups. Tutorials and Working groups may be of various lengths. Please give a general indication of how much time you believe you will require when submitting your proposal. On the 26th and 27th there will be formal 45 minute time slots alloted in two tracks, one for GCC Internals and one for GCC Users. XGA (1024x768) LCD projectors will be available to display slides from an analog video source for all presentation times on all three days in all rooms. If you require additional AV hardware please specify this at the time you submit your proposal.
Delivery ScheduleConfirmations will be made prior to March 10th, 2003. What to SubmitPapersAuthors must submit a one paragraph paper proposal. The proposal should cover the goal of the paper, and define the scope of the investigation. Should your proposal be accepted you will need to submit a more concise formal abstract outlining the contents of your paper. Abstracts should not exceed one (1) paragraph in length. Final papers must be submitted in LaTeX using the provided Style template. Papers should be a minimum of 8 to 10 pages in length once formatted. ResourcesLaTeX templates for papers are here. Formatting AssistanceWe have people available to help with formatting of your papers. If you require formatting assistance please allow a minimum of 2-weeks lead time ahead of any published deadline. Review ProcessPaper proposals will be reviewed by the members of the committee, and accepted or rejected with status notification by email. SubmittingFinished papers and questions should be sent to papers@gccsummit.org. PublicationThe Conference requires publication rights to accepted papers, including the publication of the audio proceedings as well as publication and reproduction rights to any video filmed during the presentations. Copyright ownership is retained by the author. These rights are non-exclusive. Failure to SubmitIn the event that you miss one of the deadlines we reserve the right to revoke any offer to present.
