2009 Call For ParticipationGCC Developers' Summit, Montreal, Quebec Canada, June 8-10th, 2009The GCC Developers' Summit is looking for proposals for technical papers, and birds of a feather sessions on the most current R&D topics in toolchain development including but not limited to: GCC, GDB, GLIBC, EGLIBC, and GNU Binutils. You are encouraged to read over the proceedings of the previous Summits to get an idea of the topics and the level of detail appropriate for this event.Step 1. The ProposalThe first step is to create an account on the GCC Summit website. Once you have an account and have logged in you will be able to submit your proposal. A proposal should be around 150 words and should describe the subject matter of your proposed paper/tutorial/bofs as well as the target audience. You should also list any co-authors in the proposal. You will also be required to submit a short biography with your proposal. A maximum of 100 words your biography should include the projects you are currently or have been involved with in the past as well as any other details you feel are relevant to your proposal.Step 2. Committee ReviewThe programme committee will review your proposal between March 15th and 31st and may send questions during this time. Acceptance and rejection notifications will be sent out by April 1st, 2009.Step 3. Final SubmissionsTechnical PapersOnce your proposal is accepted you will need to submit an abstract for the website and event programme as quickly as possible, we recommend you write this up in advance so that it is ready to submit. Your abstract may be up to 150 words and should outline your topic in enough detail for the attendees to get a good sense of what you will be talking about in your paper and presentation. Your paper must be submitted by May 15th to be included in the printed programme. We may be mailing out the proceedings after the event this year if we need to move this deadline back. Your paper must be formatted using the GCC Developers' Summit LaTeX template and submitted using the revision control system detailed within. You are encourage to submit early and make changes up until the deadline so that any major problems with formatting or graphics can be dealt with in advance. We discourage the use of colour images as it will be printed in black and white and encouage scalable vector image formats like eps as well as including any original image files to allow them to be re-generated as needed.Bird of a Feather SessionsWhile these have no fixed requirements we ask that any information that you would like provided to attendees in advance be provided to us by no later than June 1st, 2009.Step 4: PresentationsPapersPaper presentations will be 45 minutes. There will be a 15 minute break in between each session.Bird of a Feather SessionsBird of a Feather Sessions will be 60 minutes in length.A/V EquipmentAn XGA (1024x786) LCD projector will be available to display output from a laptop computer. If you will require additional AV equipment please let us know as early as possible.Publication RightsThe conference requires non-exclusive publication rights to submitted papers including the publication of audio and video proceedings. Copyright is retained by the author. We do ask that we be the first organization to publish any given paper.
