Alexandru TurjanBio (author 1): Alexandru Turjan studied mathematics at the University of Bucharest and electrical engineering at Polytechnics University of Bucharest. In 2007, he received the PhD Degree from Leiden University, the Netherlands. He contributed more than 15 scientific articles, and the book "Compaan - A Process Network Parallelizing Compiler". Currently, he is working as senior scientist for ST-Ericsson on compilers for multimedia architectures. Relevant projects: 1. Targeting GCC to the Trimedia family of architectures. 2. Targeting GCC to the EVP architecture. Bio (author 2): Dmitry Cheresiz received the Ph.D. degree in computer engineering in 2003 with the dissertation describing a novel vector multimedia architecture. This research was carried out in a joint project between Delft University of Technology and Leiden University, The Netherlands. In 2004 he has joined Phililps Research, Netherlands. Among other projects, he participated in porting the GCC for the Trimedia family of VLIW media processors and the EVP vector DSP. Currently, he is a Senior Scientist at ST-Ericsson. His research interests include computer architecture, vector and multimedia processing, processor design, modeling, and evaluation. |
